Morgan Hill Community Theater
Morgan Hill, California 2002

Scope of services included development of the structural design for the adaptive conversion of this existing historic church into a community theater. The existing church is a wood-framed structure constructed in 1924 by the Christian faith that contains 3,000 square feet. The project scope entailed transporting the existing church several hundred feet onto a new foundation to improve access to the building. The scope also included construction of a new stage wing, a new restroom wing, a new dressing room wing, and a new stadium-seating platform within the envelope of the original church's sanctuary. The new wing additions increase the facility's area to 7,500 square feet, and they facilitate the adaptive conversion of the original church building into a theater that seats an audience of 200 people.
